It was no arrangement or manipulation (as what Cat originally suspected) that my 1st trip back to Singapore, and a working trip at that, also allowed me to attend 1 Mambo just before I flew off again back to Cambodia on a Thu flight. It was pure fate, haha!
And so before I flew in back to SG on 30 Aug, I already started asking my friends out for dinner on the night before Mambo. Met everybody at Great World City Jack's Place for dinner, including best friend Garry and group, before all heading down to Zouk. (except for Garry and group) Too bad Zhikai was sick and couldn't make it.
As usual, the bunch of us did our Members' Bar routine and despite that I had not been drinking at all, I still managed to survive a Graveyard as I always would, though this time I actually felt the kick rushed in before long. And seeing friends I have not seen for so long, brings back so much nice memories. Couldn't believe the ah beng hunk was still around in Members' Bar, but with everybody around, it was not exactly comfortable for me to do my approach, lol!
I found Royston exceptionally cute because he had braces on when he didn't before I flew off, and boys with braces is actually one of my fetishes, lol! I did admit it openly anyway. The night was awesome, especially with Tony Tay and Byden spinning a blast, just for me on my request, haha! Thanks once again!
Things got interesting at Winebar as Marcus started challenging Royston and I to kiss with penalty to Marcus if we did. And Kes rarely turns away a do-able challenge, and Royston was a good sport, so we kissed! And Sam took a video and had it posted up on Facebook, lol! Poor Marcus was caught in a spot, but Royston actually helped with the penalty anyway, so sweet. Matching up to the standard of a cute sweet boy image with braces, lol!
And despite a recent saga involving so many people still going on, nobody could really be bothered and we were all enjoying ourselves tremedously last night, making me starting to miss Singapore again now, especially watching all the boys dancing, with a big part of joy coming from the fact that in the wake of this current saga going on, I have actually also brought people and friends together, and there really was a deep sense of pride and accomplishment somewhere within me watching everybody dancing together and enjoying ourselves.
Then Bad Romance played when I had least expected it, and Marcus danced to it as usual, still as good as ever! Haha!
It was such an amazing night that almost everybody stayed till the end, and Ben drove me back home. While in his car, I was looking through the souvenirs that Kok Loong got for me while he was in Thailand, one of the presents sent a roar of unstoppable laughter through me while Ben actually played with that kinky present with a 'raise eyebrow' look and commented that it was very sticky, lol!
And so that was the end of a most splendid and enjoyable Mambo in such a long time, thanks to everybody who made it so special for me last night. :)
Will update about Cambodia life in a separate entry when I am more motivated to do so, ha!

Dear LJ... miss me???
Haha, I think if I had been a loyal fan of my posting as what a few people has become, I would actually miss my blog. And well, who's to say the writer doesn't miss his own blog? It is afterall, in one way or another, about the writer's life or part of it.
In any case, I have decided to drop a blog post about life in Cambodia on a monthly basis.
Now, let's see how first month went...
Exactly as how Garry predicted - depressing. Utterly depressing.
Not only did I miss home and friends terribly during my first week here, I just could not get used to life here and worse still, I had food poisoning during my first Saturday here, and that was eating from a fast food place in the biggest mall in Phnom Penh.
I was very grateful that my new Mambo friend was actually around Saturday night and we chatted my sleepless night (but tortured, considering I kept going to the bathroom to vomit every 10 mins or so) away, till 5am.
The food poisoning actually took 1 whole week for me to recover since on the following Monday, instead of eating completely plain stuff as I should have been to let my stomach rest and give it time to recover, I had to entertain a very important guest from Singapore together with my bosses. So I was eating extremely good food for lunch and dinner, along with drinking alcohol. Oh my poor stomach!
Right now, I am living alone in a 2 bedroom apartment in one of the most expensive area in Cambodia, but in one of the cheapest apartments, ha. Considering that rental is fully paid for, I shouldn't be complaining. Only problem was, my depression added up when I had to deal with my apartment being on the second level and it was just beside a Lebanese restaurant and I had ants infestation problems every few days.
Why 'was' and 'had'? Well, because I complained enough that the apartment manager finally moved me up to the fifth floor, to a nicer unit, ha!
Life is still dull and boring here and I have not exactly made any friends yet and because of that, I don't go out after work. One would have thought that it would add up even more to my depression but interestingly... after I recovered from my food poisoning, (although I just had a second one few days ago) I realized I am actually able to sleep better.
In fact, because I did not want to have cross medication during my first food poisoning, I did not take any of my depression and sleeping medication and supplements (I was taking up to 8 pills a night) and after that, I just completely did away with them and have been able to sleep properly without taking any pill anymore.
My mum calls me occasionally, and even once said she missed me, though I usually keep the conversation short as its really expensive on both our sides for such calls.
And to think the recent SQ saga had that jerk replying my retort email on him causing mischief again in Mambo, making personal attacks against me and even using my mum to insult me. Only a loser with nothing else better to say would start using people's parents as an insult. Trying to talk about what kind of upbringing I had, definitely better than his upbringing since my parents had never taught me to use another's parents to insult.
Seriously, how low and despicable can a person get who seduced another's wife, sought revenge against a gal when he himself fell prey to his own lustful temptations, backstabbed and made use of his close friends, told lies to so many people, and now when he could not find any better means and ways to shut me up when he was the one who started misbehaving, decided that the best way is to launch a whole tirade of personal insults and involving my mother too.
Sheesh, what a jerk.
Thankfully, I am not in the least bothered by what he thinks is a long clever reply but in truth a show of pure stupidity. In fact, I was laughing so hard on reading that he added in all the personal insults that instead of being affected, I decided to show everybody on Facebook what he wrote, haha!
Anyway, this is supposed to be about my life here in Cambodia, not him. Should not be giving him so much appearance credit in my blog, ha!
Despite all the seemingly difficult times I am experiencing in my first month here in Cambodia, a realization dawned on me as I was talking to Kel that this would only be an initial sufferance but that it would reap great rewards and much greater benefits in the future if I work hard.
As I told him briefly of the plans my company has in the future, with 2 new businesses opening in August and many more to come, it does suddenly seem so much more brighter.
Besides, what is my suffering compared to how some of the people are living here? I even begin to feel ashamed of myself as I thought deeper about the life of people here in Cambodia. In fact, anybody who complains about the working life in Singapore or how the foreigners in Singapore are taking away their jobs should really feel deeply ashamed of themselves.
And at least I know that in coming here, I have actually made a major impact of the lives of at least 20 gals working here, changing a working policy of working 13 hours a day for 6 days a week, to 2 shifts of 9 hours each, without taking away any part of their salaries.
Also August would be a really exciting (and busy!) month for me, and I think I would finally be able to get out of my apartment sometime, to hang out with the elite expats in Cambodia and to finally socialize and network around.
Why is that so you ask? Well, if you want to find out then stay tuned for my monthly blog of my life here in Cambodia!

Quite possibly the very last regular Mambo (meaning if it really is, there'll be no more weekly Mambo blog posting from me!) I had and it was ruined. Well, nearly. Luckily, at least Byden still played all the better songs after almost 3am, when I got back from drinking at Winebar with Weirenn and David.
The last Mambo that quite a few ex-regulars came down for specially for me, and it was not a good one. So horrid was the music spinning, that so many people left at around 2am.
Even my guest, Gorgeous (G), who came down for the 2nd Mambo ever said that last week's was so much better and that when he was originally rather high from all the alcohol feeding we gave him, the music was so bad that he was sobering up to extreme disappointment.
In any case, what's over is over, cannot be helped there anymore. Byden actually at least played Another Cha Cha that he had not played for a damn long time that had me going up to the gay platform to dance, after which I was said to be stunning by... somebody. :D
I was actually down with sickness to begin with from Tue already, but I had a vespa ride date with New Mambo Friend (NMF, all my abbreviations, ha!) and was really looking forward to it. So out of sheer willpower, even though I was both tired and sick, I suppressed my illness till it was tolerable, and went out almost immediately after I got back home at 7pm.
Had dinner with NMF at Suntec's Kunshin Bo, my 1st time eating there and despite it being rather pricey, the food was really sumptious and fresh, especially the sashimi. We actually had 2 big full plates of salmon sashimi.
After dinner, we took a ride on his bright red Vespa to PS before walking to Cineleisure to catch Toy Story 3. Along the way, as it was still early before our showtime, I suggested taking a walk into Orchard Central and although there really was not much retail shops of interest and that it is quite a quiet mall nowadays, it's actually my favorite shopping mall because of its design, concept and beautiful night scenery view on its higher floors. Plus, I like the peace and quiet of the mall unlike ION and 313.
I really love Orchard Central, should have thought of it much earlier as a nice place to bring a date to.
And Toy Story 3 was a nice and touching animation. I really like it, thanks for picking that as a show to watch, NMF. :)
Following the show, we were wondering where to go for my promised Vespa ride and I suddenly remembered Marina Barrage as being one place that I had never been to yet, and we took a ride there, had a walk around the area, chatted for abit, before finally deciding that it was getting late and he sent me back home.
And following was Mambo night, that I forced myself to go down to despite being really sick. But as again, somehow sheer willpower kept my health in check and I met Cat and G for dinner. It was at this point that I saw a really hot Ang Moh boy and decided to approach him to ask if he had wanted to do modelling for Garry's company. In correspondence with him since then and hopefully, he will eventually become one of the models, heh.
After dinner, we went on to Members' Bar in Zouk for a drink while waiting for the rest to arrive since it was still very early and once Ben, Sam and Jasmine arrived, between the bunch of us, we started making G drink almost non-stop, almost like as if an inauguration party to become one of the Mambo-ers, lol!
Too bad somehow the horrid music mixes spoilt the night, for everybody, especially for all those who came down specially for me. But at least for an hour after 3am, the DJ spun the better tracks and at least I got to see NMF dancing happily to the songs. Too bad G had already left for home, so did so many others who had planned to stay all the way till closing. Bad music really spoiled people's mood, and it almost ruined mine completely.
I was actually even going home at around 2.30am, had not Weirenn and David asked me to Winebar to drink, I most likely would not gone back into Zouk. Seriously, besides the company of my friends last night, it was the WORST Mambo night I have ever been to in a long long time and I was told and smsed so many similiar feelings by so many people.
Oh well... in any case, there's still my birthday celebration in Oct, heh. If Mambo continues to be as bad as last night though, then it is very simple that I just do not have to celebrate in Zouk. There are always so many other places and ways to celebrate birthdays and spend money at, haha.
Anyway... today on Thu had me having Aston dinner with a mystery guest. :P
Even though it was only dinner, and accompanying him shopping, it was still great company and he even gave me a box of Royce chocolate. That was really sweet of him.
And now... off to bed soon and to prepare for my trip over the weekend. Guess I will have to say goodbye Singapore soon.

Kes~

One of the last few Mambo nights (possibly the 2nd last) it was for me last night, and I must say, it was my most memorable, thanks to a sashimi buffet dinner date with a hunk (H) I have been idolizing for years, and a whole night of company with a gorgeous guy (G) I have known for years and tried persuading down for Mambo Jambo for 2 years but only went down last night, and it was his 1st ever Mambo night too.
After the really filling sashimi buffet dinner with H, (he's actually kind of leanfit built rather than big sized muscled built, but still built enough to be termed a hunk anyway) it was still early at 9.30pm and we needed to let the food digest, so we took a walk, all the way from Miramar Hotel to Clarke Quay and around that area before heading back to Zouk. It was a really small world running into Cat having dinner at Mohammed Sultan.
When we reached the opposite side of the back river of Zouk, he was fascinated by the Italian restaurant sitting alone almost in the middle of nowhere just in front of the bridge leading to the back of Corpthorne Hotel, and time being still early, we went in for dessert.
It was a really fabulous and enchanting pre-2 hours before Mambo. :D
As he went on to meet his friend before going to Members' Bar, I waited for both Cat and my ultra rare guest G. He arrived first, with his brother, and as last met almost 2 years ago, his smile still melts my heart and his eyes still dazzles me with stars, heh. Such a pity that as he just came back from his Sweden exchange program, I am flying off to Cambodia. :(
Cat arrived shortly and after an introduction, we went ahead to Members'. G is truly so... gorgeous that even H was asking after him when he saw me bringing my guests into Members', ha. Oh yah, H is gay too, but not G. (not from what I know at least, ha) I was surprised G would catch H's attention though as I didn't think he would be H's type but then again, I don't nickname him Gorgeous for nothing. :P
H went ahead to drink with his gal friend while G drank with me, Cat, Kevin and Royston, and it was actually a pre birthday celebration for Royston.
I was really dying to know this other Members' Bar regular, a really cute Beng with tattoos whom I have been oggling at whenever he was at Members' Bar but even as it was my 2nd last Mambo, I just somehow could not find my usual guts to even try catching eye contact.
I realized the difference between him and others I have known directly in Zouk before was I usually see this Beng at Members' Bar always with his friend around so it was not easy to catch him alone to say hi and even then, when I knew other guys, it was always on the dancefloor and it was very free and easy with no expectation. (meaning no kaypoh-ing and pressure from friends and everybody looking at how I would be going up to say hi)
Well, I have just 1 more week or 2 to try. In any case, with G's presence last night, I really shouldn't be greedy, heh.
As the music started getting good, we made our way down to the dancefloor and I started getting a few more inquiries about G as I passed by friends. I was like 'Shoo shoo, he's mine' Haha.
Ok I didn't say that but I am sure I would have if anybody started getting over inquisitive about him. :P
It was really interesting seeing him trying to learn Mambo moves and when he tried to learn from me, I told him not to since I rubbished mine long time ago, not really bothering to remember steps just so I can follow everybody. Music was good, Tony Tay played a new favorite of mine - A*Teens' Upside Down - which had me laughing about it with Sam due to the reason why I even requested it in the first place when it was never played before.
But even as Tony Tay was good, there was still a period that I find suitable enough for an intermission break and we proceeded to Winebar to drink. It was a pity the boys were not around for this intermission break and looks like I would not be able to see Gerard again until I come back to Singapore since he would not be around for the next 3 weeks.
Earlier on, there was a funny remark by a gal (whom I really cannot remember who she was when she said hi to me on my reaching) while I was waiting for either Cat or G to arrive first outside of Zouk that the 3 boys come together as a package, so when 1 does not turn up, the other 2 definitely will not either.
Anyway, it was quite fun at Winebar with Royston rather drunk. In the midst of our drinking, my new Mambo friend K (lotsa alphabets this night, heh) arrived from his NUS orientation camp and I went out to sign him in, then went back in to Winebar to chill out for a while more before heading back to Zouk.
The whole night was spent with G and his brother and I only went up to the platform to danced to 2 songs. One was Hush Hush with Cat and the other was another of my favorites, That Thing You Do, which was also the last song of the night.
When G was actually trying to learn Bad Romance's moves when it played, I told him not to bother since to me, there is really only one guy in Mambo who can dance to it perfectly. And it was a real pity Marcus wasn't there last night, both H and G would have really loved to see him dance to it, so would I. :D
And so the dreamy night ended and I bade G farewell, before heading to Shell with Zhikai and Gerald (and Pet and Claudio were there too) for a rare (nowadays for me at least) cooling down before sharing cab back home with Zhikai.
Now looking forward to next Tue night for a... date with K, haha! :P
But it really was marvellous last night, it was a most fantastic dinner with H and G is as charming as ever, despite having not seen him for almost 2 years. I hope he enjoyed his 1st ever Mambo night, ha.
Love,
Kes~

So I didnt blog about last Wed's Mambo, but to be honest, I am getting lazy to write nowadays, especially with the fact that I am going to Cambodia to work in just a few more weeks' time.
In fact... I don't even know where to start now, haha. Well, last night was erm... weird, the music mixing at least. Met Kevin, Jasmine and Catherine for dinner at Great World City.
When we reached Zouk, almost everybody had his or her eyes glued to the screen for the World Cup, which to me was plain boredom. Even at Members' Bar, everybody was watching World Cup.
I was originally planning on drinking, but everybody else did not seem to be wanting to drink much, so I just had Graveyard with Kevin and then bought a jug of Red Devil during 1 for 1 and that was it. Graveyard nowadays actually does not even give me or some of us the kick anymore, considering how we started getting used to it already.
In any case, as mentioned, both the DJs' spinning were rather... weird. I had requested some songs which they did play some but not all, and had requested for them to blast the night away, but it was, well, not exactly a blast. Maybe they were not in a good mood, ha. Or was it because I was not high at all?
The boys left early (no Bad Romance performance by Marcus) and in fact, I did not dance much either, like maybe for only half the night?
My new Mambo friend is back from Italy and when he saw that I was standing by the steps under the big screen looking very bored, he came over to talk to me, heh. He got me an interesting souvenir from Italy too, ha.
Jay and Crono were there last night too. Everybody was asking me about my Cambodia job, ha. Well, that would also mean that there would be no more Mambo blogging once I leave for Cambodia, lol!
In any case, I don't really know what else to write about anymore. I don't know when I will be back again after I leave (around 2nd week of Jul) but I will definitely be back in Oct at least. (my birthday, why else? haha)
Well, we'll just see how it goes. All good things must come to an end and then better things will come along. :)

After tonight, I can proudly say that Garry is not the only one who can organize surprise birthdays for friends, ha.
Ok maybe for me to organize a surprise birthday dinner for Cat was not really that difficult, but I think the element of making sure everything and everybody was on the dot could be rather difficult. In fact I almost got annoyed that the boys were going to be late when I specifically capitalized the words "DON'T BE LATE" on my mass sms sent out. Luckily, Cat herself was slightly late.
The planning kind of started yesterday. On my way to meet my date for dinner, I called a few of them up and I suddenly felt a challenge to just organize a simple surprise dinner for her. Nothing much but just a gathering of friends that she would not have expected.
And so I started calling up people while waiting for my date to arrive, and it was more or less settled, with a little bit of fine tuning.
Speaking of my date... well, I am just glad he enjoyed watching Shrek 4. It is really my pleasure to be able to cheer him up. :)
When I reached home, I saw Cat on msn and just said casually that I wanted to eat in a restaurant for dinner before Mambo instead of the usual foodcourt every week, and to avoid suspicions that there might be an arrangement of sorts, I immediately told her to ask Gerard and Marcus for dinner too and casually said that I had already asked Ben but he could not make it. Then, knowing she'd ask Jasmine for dinner too, I sent Marcus, Gerard and Jasmine an sms that they should not let the cat out of the bag. (punk intended) Poor Ben later on complained that he was waiting for her sms too but she did not ask him. Well, I had to make it as realistic as possible just like any other more mundane Wed night dinner right? Ha.
And when I finally decided on Jack's Place, I smsed out to everybody and a simple surprise plan was set out in motion.
When I reached Jack's Place first, (having placed a reservation for 12 much earlier on in the day) I told the staffs that I would just be asking for a table for 2 first and would then later be taking the reserved tables. So when Cat finally reached, and we went in for dinner, she was completely in the dark, and I sent out the sms "Target acquired" to those already at Great World City, ha.
As we just finished ordering, Ben called to say they were all ready, and I made an excuse to take a private call and went out to meet them, lighted up the cake that Jasmine bought, and made Marcus start singing the birthday song on the way in. (since he has the loudest voice)
And yup, she was indeed surprised! Mission accomplished, haha!
After which we all - Ben, Marcus, Gerard, Jasmine, Kevin, Sam, Aaron, (yup! The dearly missed Aaron Tan back from Australia for a break!) myself and Cat - moved to the bigger table. And the other 2 surprise guests - Chock and Petrina - joined us shortly after as well.
Dinner was great and we were the last group to actually leave the restaurant, not realizing the passing of time with such a nice gathering of good old friends.
And as we progressed on to Zouk, the night was still undone as the boys brought 2 bottles of alcohol and we proceeded to the back river to finish them, with Marcus leading everybody to cheer Cat. (somebody came up with a new word in the midst of all the drinking, I think it was Pet, by saying that she had not started 'cheersing' Cat yet) By the time we got inside Zouk to Members' Bar, Cat was already quite gone. In fact, they actually ordered another 2 trays of drinks just to force feed Cat further but she was already passing out blissfully in the toilet.
It took all of us quite awhile to coax her out and I even had to activate Sofian because she was asking for him for awhile. (???) But by the time he arrived, we managed to get her out. And as we drank the 2 trays of drinks to her birthday as she was knocked out away, we wondered if she would ever recover enough to actually go to the dancefloor.
From my own experience of my 21st birthday when I had also slept blissfully dead drunk in the toilet, (not in Zouk, but back then, my friends took longer to coax me out. I think it was more than an hour, lol!) I highly doubt so. And furthermore, Jasmine got kind of drunk too, after Vernon (long time no see!) made her drink XTT with him. So finally after some time of a failed attempt to sober Cat up, with Jasmine also drunk, between the boys and I, we sent the 2 gals back home.
Ben, Gerard and I were peeing everywhere around Cat's block as we could not contain our urgency any longer. And even funnier was when I was trying to coax Cat into sobering up by purposely being highly annoying and talking gibberish to her non-stop, Ben had the misfortune of being just beside us and said "Not to be rude Kes, but you are rather irritating" LOL! Well... that was the point wasn't it? That I could be annoying and irritating enough to wake her up, ha! It failed though. -.-
But we did managed to get her home anyway and after Cat was Jasmine and then the 4 of us actually went back to Zouk. And back there, it seemed everybody had enjoyed the night. Must be all the alcohol. Even Kevin was drunk, luckily this time Royston was sober enough to help send him back, which I made sure that was the case before finally ending the night (after Marcus had his dose of dancing to Bad Romance, which never failed to impress me) and going back home with the boys.
For the past week that my new Mambo friend, whose identity is now known after Gerard tricked me last week into revealing it, was away in Itay enjoying himself, I really miss the late night chats, ha. Seems he is the only one who can stay up till as late (considering sometimes till 5am also... as early? Ha.) as I can and chat with me too.
Oh well, will just wait for him to be back, ha.

Mambo was kinda boring in a way that night, but I did not really want to disturb the 2 DJs and just let them spin their due as I had already requested for a blastoff the week before. I thought that maybe it was just I did not have any mood but apparently, the boys were just as bored to have gone over to Phuture a few times.
Met Catherine up for dinner and the boys joined us later on and we actually reached Zouk very early that night, at about slightly earlier than 10pm in fact.
And my first point of business was to look for Gary to see how badly was he hurt from last week's incident he had with a drunk customer while working at the deck. Well, he's still cute despite the injury on his eye, lol!
After that which, we were just hanging out at Members' Bar (after Gerard finished shitting) waiting for the time to pass and Sam and Kevin and friends came to Members' too soon after. I was rather restless that night, especially when a lot of things were in mind, of which one was for the 1st time in my life, I had a bit of tonsil infection. A few other things were my trip to Cambodia this Friday (later on from now as I am writing this) as well as an important date on Thursday. (which I just came back from)
Friends of the boys eventually reached and I began feeling a slight discomfort in the face of a bigger group. What a lot of people did not know about me was despite my social butterflying in Zouk sometimes, I have a rather... anti-social personality. Surprising, but not so to best friend Garry and others who know me better than most, I don't really like to hang be around a group too big for my comfort and when I am around one, I would actually suddenly become very withdrawn, quiet and distant. It has happened before even when I was out clubbing or chilling with best friend Garry and friends and if suddenly the group got more people joining than usual, I would just suddenly take on this anti-social personality.
So I eventually decided to just go down to the dancefloor where I felt slightly more at ease, even when I did not know exactly who would be down there.
And not long after, an ultra rare guest, an ex Mambo regular, smsed and I went out to bring him in. Been so long since Kevin Ong came to Mambo, haha! But I kinda felt slightly guilty for not really entertained him that night, especially when I thought it was such a boring night anyway. Should have given up trying to expect too much for that night and just went ahead to catch up with him, probably would have been more entertaining for myself too, haha! Though he assured me later on that he was not exactly too left alone.
The night ended after what seemed to be a long tiring wait for something exciting, anything at all, and Russell gave me a ride home. I thought it was rather funny that he complained of people thinking he's gay but yet I never had that perception, which had him asking why I had hit on him in the first place then and I just shrugged and replied that I hit on any guy regardless of whether I thought he might be gay or not. I did assure him that my gaydar never went off on him though, which meant I was hitting on him even when I already kinda expected that he is a straight guy to begin with. I don't think that was any actual consolation, but what the heck, haha!
I went to sleep at about 5.30am and woke up at around 11.30am to prepare for a slightly long afternoon and evening ahead. I had an interview at Orchard after which I had to rush down to Vivocity to meet a date. It was kinda important enough for me that I actually went down to Sentosa to recce the dinner place first a day earlier. (prior to meeting Cat for dinner before Mambo)
The whole idea was to dine at Coastes beach bar at Siloso beach at around 6.30pm that we would be able to view the sunset, but it was rather unfortunate that he was held up at work for awhile and we actually started eating at only around 8pm. Well, at least from where we were we managed to catch a glimpse of the fireworks from the Songs Of The Sea show.
After dinner, we took a short walk, also that since he needed to book a chalet at Coasta Sands, and even went to take a look at Wavehouse for the very first time that I kept hearing about it. Hmm... honestly... from all the hype I have been hearing about it from friends, both my date and I agreed that it really is nothing impressive at all.
In any case, it had been an enjoyable dinner, I dearly hope it was so for him too, considering I actually even recce the place first, lol!
Last but not least, I just want to bitch. About? LOST!
Considering I actually missed out one Mambo for the series before, watching it from 6pm all the way till 6am, and waiting eagerly for the final season to show... the finale was... extremely disappointing! Well, there are now actually 2 schools of fans. 1 is full of people like myself, who have extreme great expectations from an epic drama serial like LOST but now we felt disgustingly cheated. (after having watched the finale which just finished airing in the US about 2 days ago) The other school (SPOILER ALERT!) are just so happy to see all their favorite characters get together back again and moved on, claiming that was what the whole show of 6 years had been about all along - the characters. -.-"
I am kind of glad I had not exactly followed the series fervently for the past 6 years but instead cheated and just watched them all in a single shot. (from season 1 to 5 at least) So maybe the impact of the disappointment was not really that dramatic on me, but still...
Oh well, what to do?
And now, to have a good night's sleep and prepare for Cambodia later on.

I just realized I forgot all about Part 2 from last week, lol! But the geist of it was all of us - Ben, Marcus, Gerard, Kevin, May, Royston, Jasmine, Chock and myself - had dinner (or dessert for some of them who went late) at this new Japanese restaurant Jasmine was recommending, called Tampopo in Takashimaya. Cat got drunk in her NTU event and did not turn up eventually. I was trying to get Ben's friend Skye, whom he brought to Mambo for the very 1st time, drunk as it was also exactly just after his birthday. Marcus getting drunk with all the potent drinks in Members' Bar and Winebar. (I was warned by Adrian it would happen as it was already after exams and Marcus is unleashed, lol!)
Well... I think that was about all from what little I could remember now. There has been so many things on my mind, plus a sudden news about an ex... date, that I completely forgot about it.
But more importantly, tonight was fantastic! Both Tony Tay and Byden were at their peaks from my request of blasting it for a new Mambo friend's last Mambo. (for the next 3 weeks that he would not be around) In fact Byden was unsure if my request of bringing back the 90s would work out, I told him if he could do it during my birthday last year that so many friends commented it was wonderful, I am definitely sure he could do it again.
And he was awesome!
Even this new Mambo friend whom I had been telling everybody about but refusing to divulge his identity and keeping everybody guessing was probably esctatic that I had requested for this special night just for him, haha! Thats a big thanks for all the late night/morning msn chats till 4 or 5am, plus the Teppanyaki dinner that I finally managed to psycho him out for, heh. Have a safe trip and see you real soon! (I am going to miss our msn chats)
And tonight had some sort of Channelnewsasia (was it that? or did I get it wrong?) filming that I originally was extremely camera shy about and running away from the camera. But after Tony Tay's spectacular spinning, I loosened up and just could not be bothered about the camera, though whenever I saw it pointing near my direction, I still looked away.
A lot of Kevin's friends were around too and I was told Marc Tay drank 3 Super Lambos cos of his birthday! And he survived the night eventually! OMG! 3 SUPER LAMBOS! Even Marcus could not beat that I am sure, lol!
In fact at Members' Bar before going down to dancfloor we were drinking all sort of drinks, with some deadly drinks already thrown about to some of them, like Graveyard and Super Lambo. Having not able to see James at first in Members' Bar, I was complaining to Wesley that the management need to continue having the good lookers in Members' Bar to satisfy the erm... members who would be looking at looks standard from the servers and bartenders. (I think that only applies to me... )
In any case, James eventually came back up and got so busy while few of us kept hounding him and he was so stressed! Poor thing!
It was also great to see Weihong working back again after so long. In fact I was surprised to see him last week already.
Overall, tonight was a great night, of enjoyment and alcohol that did not kill off any of us, not even Skye whom we were trying to convince him that we would want to post celebrate his birthday, haha!
And surprise surprise, certain songs saw almost Cat, the boys and myself actually shuffling! I was like... since when did Ben started trying to shuffle? Another surprise came when he actually commented that tonight's music was great, whether by Tony or Byden and I was like, this was the first time (I think) that I have ever heard him mention any compliment about the music.
And Marcus was at his peak too, when dancing to Bad Romance. Almost a solo performance watched by all. When Ben told me Marcus seemed a bit over enthusiastic tonight, I was not surprised, what with all the missing out of Mambo, the exams stress and the great music tonight by both Tony and Byden.
The night finally ended reluctantly, and Ben sent Marcus, Gerard and myself back home while Kevin and friends left to eat supper.
And wow... Annabelle sure could drink! For a lady to have drank 1 Super Lambo and she seemed to be fine... wow...
In any case, Tony and Byden were outstanding tonight!
I seem to think there are more to blog but at this befuddled and tired moment... I could not remember anything else. Maybe about my ex-date, maybe about the Cambodia trip, maybe nothing.
Oh well... will pen them down if I remember later. For now...
Good night/morning world!

Kes~
Again, I have decided to separate blog posting into 2 parts.
This time round, I am going to blog juicy details first. Ryan spoke to me last night, and I was half convinced, until now, when I am completely unconvinced anymore.
I am very sorry Ryan, it is not that I am not giving you face or that I do not treat your suggestion of a mediation seriously, but there is nothing to mediate, there is nothing to talk about. It is completely all over between SQ and me as friends.
Maybe I was in the wrong for wanting to start a fight with him that night, especially since I was drunk, but all these things happening now was never because of the fight. The fight was just a catalyst to finally spur me on to take actions against the things that he had done which I find unforgiveable and disgusting.
In fact, on talking to somebody, I was advised to just play along and pretend that I really wanted things to be settled peacefully, but I am NOT a pretentious prick. And I DO NOT want things to be settled peacefully between him and me.
As for your insistence that you and him felt strongly back then that people were making use of me when I was in a high standing job and buying drinks around for people and that you now still support how you felt back then, I appreciate the concern but I am sure if these people you felt so strongly about were to read this entry, which I am sure they will, they will disagree STRONGLY with you and SQ.
In fact, I wonder, if you and SQ were so concerned about these people making use of me that you said both of you were so angry over, why did you not confront them and instead just kept telling me these people were making use of me? What is the point? And since you still felt that you are right, those people you accused of making use of me were behind us last night as we talked, why didn't you go and talk to them since you are obviously still so concerned?
Next, I am certain a lot of people would want to know how this major conflict between me and SQ came about and I am getting bored of explaining it over and talking about it too many times, so I am going to go through this once. And I am afraid that certain names will be mentioned this time.
1. During 1st Mambo Danceoff competition in 2008, he was helping Zouk to ask friends to join the event, including me. We fell out when I decided that he was letting it get over his head and he claimed I was giving attitude by not joining the competition when he had been asking me nicely.
2. I decided to let bygones be bygones when the new year started in 2009. And we started talking and hanging out again on the dancefloor.
3. Something happpened between him and Cat, which I did not know what, and I do not really wish to know either, but I treat both of them as my friends. Somehow he seems to have never forgotten that incident though.
4. 9 regulars were approached to perform at Esplanade for the dance festival. SQ and a few others were skeptical about the whole idea while I had decided to show my full support for these 9 friends and were with them throughout during their rehearsals. I believed in them.
5. The Esplanade event was a huge success.
6. But during this time, was a sort of a low period for me, since I was jobless. And it was during this time, that I kept hearing suggestions that the boys were making use of me to get Zouk memberships, or that they were ostracizing me on the dancefloor because I was no longer in a high standing career and that I was no longer really buying drinks anymore. Even worse was the suggestion that Cat was manipulating the boys into such actions. But while this was said to me, SQ was still telling Marcus, one of the boys, that they were still very close together, that they were close buddies, while behind him, to me on msn, he said he felt like he wanted to punch Marcus when he was drunk and that all the drunk boys spoilt his fun during Mambo nights.
7. Eventually, after too much suggestions being input, plus a small misunderstanding that happened between me and Gerard, I decided to confront Cat about the allegations, not to pinpoint faults at her, but just trying to find out why she was involved. Nothing can rock my friendship with her but I was too disturbed that somebody could actually say such things about her plus that since I was a very straightforward person and not liking to hide anything to myself if I had a concern. Unlike these people who had been telling me the boys were making use of me but yet not confronting them with their concerns. (if that was truly concerns as what they claimed it was) The same night, something happened between Kiat and Cat, but that was none of my business and in fact even when I knew exactly what happened, I did not see Cat in any other worse way. But SQ chose to get involved because of his previous incident with Cat that he harbored grudges on all these while.
8. I fell out with the boys immediately the following day, and I am sure some of my readers have read that post that was so... harsh. And it was also during this period of time that SQ suddenly wrote a long post that not only condemned the 9 Mambo regulars who performed for Esplanade, but he claimed he spoke for and represented the Mambo community too in doing so. It incurred the wrath of several Mambo regulars and the coward eventually took down that post, arranged for a private meeting with Marcus in NUS and claimed that the post had nothing to do with Marcus but instead was an agenda against Cat and that he had an army in Zouk waiting to deal with her.
9. The boys eventually talked to me about my concerns on falling out with them and I admitted I was too harsh and in fact I apologized to them later on. The following Mambo saw the most uncharacteristic behaviour from a man against a woman when SQ went around telling everybody he wanted Cat's head. Back then I was still trying very hard to remain neutral but all hell broke loose and unleashed the beast in me when apparently not happy at seeing me still talking and dancing with Cat, he told Dawei, my best buddy of 15 years, that if I chose to continue to side Cat in his 'war' against her, things would turn ugly.
10. I was so infuriated the whole night and could not sleep while thinking about it, that I finally decided to choose a side - Cat's - and that I will play this little 'war' game of his and see for myself just how ugly things will turn out. And besides, in all of these matter between any of them and Cat, SQ was the one making a hoohaa out of it, not Cat. And so, the dinner meeting was called for that I decided to reveal all the ugly truths about SQ, on the part that he was accusing the boys of making use of me, on the part that he was friendly and 'buddy' with Marcus but told me he felt like wanting to punch Marcus when Marcus was drunk. And that dinner was the joy and laughter of us all when we discussed why he wanted Cat's head and what he would do with it. In fact, as more truths were spilled about him by other people at the dinner table, SQ became the butt and limelight of jokes. It was a great reunion for us that lasted for 5 hours.
And from then, most of you would have known what had happened so far. Recently he has shed some light about what exactly happened between Cat and him that he wanted to take revenge on and it was a pathetic attempt of accusing her that she was in fault for making an advance on him while she was drunk and he was sending her back, but yet admitting that he was indecent enough to take advantage of the situation and cave in to temptations, and he wants to take revenge because he gave in to his own desire? Because he was the one who, as he phrased it, took the bait? OMG! What a joke!
Next he accused Cat of going after attached guys (oh come on, who does not go after attached people? Even I go after attached guys whether straight or gay) but the irony is, he is going after a married woman! True love or not as he claims it is, he is breaking up a marriage and since he has now publicly named that woman as Sarah, (whom actually most of us know what had been going on anyway but just kept quiet about it) he has implicated her in this whole saga and letting the whole world know that Sarah is now seeing this man all these while when she is still married.
So yes, this is the full story between me and SQ that so many people have been asking about recently. And yes, I may have seem like I am now the petty one and still decided to go on about him when Ryan had made an approach to mediate between me and him. But unfortunately Ryan insisting that they felt so strongly about my friends making use of me does not put me in any position to want to accept any peaceful settlements.
The only way I will ever let this matter rest, is if SQ:
1. apologize openly (Facebook, or whatever) to the regulars who took part in the Esplanade event, just as how openly he had condemned them in his long Facebook post.
2. apologize to the boys for accusing them of making use of me.
3. apologize to Marcus for saying behind Marcus that he wanted to punch Marcus when Marcus was drunk.
4. apologize to Cat for stirring up shit by telling people he wanted her head.
5. apologize to all those whom he had disturbed by saying that to them (and oh yes, i know who exactly, the... Mambo community being rather small anyway)
6. apologize for ever having said that he represented the Mambo community.
7. and finally, apologize to me and Dawei for ever having dared to throw that remark of things turning ugly if I chose to side Cat.
I doubt even a single one of the above will be done. In that case Ryan, forget about any chance of mediation. I don't care if you and Kiat side him, I don't care if you think that you both still treat me as a friend or not, I don't care if the whole world choose to side him. This is what I had on my Friendster profile about myself:
"I am also petty, stubborn, sensitive, emotional and have powerful mood swings (PMS) more unpredictable than natural disasters. But i am proud to admit it, cos its who i am."
So don't bother talking to me about SQ anymore unless by some miracle he does all the above.
And yes Sarah, this may be getting old, but if he can bear his grudge against Cat for so long before doing all these stupid uncharacteristic idiotic things, why can't I bear my own injustice? So, as said again, unless he does all that I said above, I will never let matter rest nor let it go.
People say never offend a woman, I'd say never offend a gay guy. He has done both.
And that... is the end of my Part 1 post, damn bloody freaking long! LOL! Okok, I will make sure Part 2 is lighthearted, heh.
Love,
Kes~

And now, here comes part 2, with lots of juicy details!
I was very surprised when Zhikai (oh yes, I was surprised AT Zhikai too, with his new hairstyle, lol!) told me the old Mambo regular gang were in Zouk, mainly to celebrate Josephine's birthday, partly because they heard about last week.
Probably all expecting a show of some sort, but as promised to Jasmine and Pet, I would not purposely look for trouble or start a drama on my side. And indeed, I did not. Nothing can be said the same of the other side though.
As what SQ had done to Cat before when he declared to so many people openly his hatred for her and that he wanted revenge and her head, (sorry Cat, you must be sick of hearing your story repeated over and over again, lol! Treat it as a legacy, haha!) he and his puppets (I have decided to be nice and still treat them as fellow human beings rather than dogs) did the same to me last night, only in a much more childish and hilarious ways.
It was so stupid and 'bo liao' that a few of us were actually having a freaking good time laughing at their miserable attempts to get trouble started by me. With everywhere I went last night within the dancefloor, eyes followed me. With conversation striking to Dawei and others, they deliberately bobbed their heads near me to listen to what I was saying. Either that those were real attempts to pick out if I was talking about them or that if I was having anything up my sleeves, or it was a purposeful attempt to draw my irritation and annoyance such that I would be the first one to brew trouble so they would have an excuse against me.
In fact, even as I went back in much later during my usual intermission break to fetch somebody out to Winebar to drink, I could feel as if SQ's eyes were glued on to me. (Yeeewww.... yucks!) It was seriously so stupid, that I had such a good time laughing at it all with friends. Such clowns there are in the world, haha! But I wonder why did they not do the same to me when I was around the vicinity of the old Mambo regulars, scared of the old Mambo gang? :P
And oh yes ladies, as mentioned earlier, here we are actually talking about a straight guy who wanted to take revenge on a gal for whatsoever petty reasons he had felt the need to bear grudges and hatred on. So blinded by his need for revenge that he actually relayed the message to Dawei that if I still chose to stand on Cat's side in his 'war' against her then things would turn ugly.
And yes, this was from a long time ago, a story so old that some of us may have grown spider webs listening to it again, lol! But the story may be old, apparently the grudges and the enmity are still hanging. And that also made some of us wonder... so why is Cat's head still on her shoulder? Sorry Cat, not that I wanted to see your head rolling off of course, heh. And then another wonder, did he too go around telling people last night that he wanted my head? If so, which head? ROFLOL!
This SQ is also the same guy who expressed disgust and irritation at a few people getting drunk and spoiling his Mambo night enjoyments (I wonder how so) and saying they were idiots but in front of some of them, one in particular actually, was all nice and friendly and giving advice as a 'close friend', until finally exposed by me. This SQ was also the same guy who wrote a long Facebook post condemning those who put in so much efforts for the Esplanade Mambo dance performance and openly placed himself as a representative speaking for the Mambo community.
This SQ was also the same fellow who then tried talking in private to the one particular friend to brush off any misunderstanding that friend may have thought of him after his long post, and told the friend that he had an army in Zouk ready to help him in his 'war' against Cat. Hmm... what army? -.^
Anyway, the list suddenly seems endless, lol!
But if last night's actions were any indication of what he and his puppets can do to me, I actually enjoyed myself over whole stupidity, haha! In fact, truth be told, I really had fun last night. Besides happy at seeing the old regulars back, in getting somebody drunk I also got really high and was jumping up and down for joy on the top center platform when I got back from Winebar, much to Byden's delight watching from the Dj's console since I was facing him and waving and grinning widely at him too. And yes, he is back from Europe!
In fact, I was so high, that I was forgetting all my Mambo moves and even falling from the top center platform onto people on the below level, including knocking onto poor Russell.
Some miscellaneous updates following...
On Sat, I was rather upset at first for Garry asking me last minute about clubbing so I could not really make it since I did not bring any extra clothing to change. So I did not go clubbing and went straight home after work instead. But on reaching home, instead I had a good time chatting with a new Mambo friend on msn, from 1.30am all the way to 5.30am!
Following that next day, I caught Ironman 2 with Zhikai and Cat and we stayed all the way till the end of the credits to catch a glimpse of the next upcoming superhero movie. And then we moved on to do some clothes shopping for myself for work, going to my favorite shopping brand, Uniglo!
Goodness... one of the reasons it is my favorite, is not just because of their nice and colorful and trendy and cheap stuffs, but also of the many cute boys working there! :P
And with regards to my possible 2 years offer in Cambodia... I will update again when there is more details. I have already sent in a reply of... some sort. Let's see how it goes.
And so, that's the end of part 2!
Love,
Kes~

Love,
Kes~
